![]() ![]() ![]() It features a finger relief cut near the trigger guard for a more comfortable shooting experience. If my experience is in line with the good review I'll be really happy with the pistol.Iver Johnson Arms 1911 is a Series 70 pistol which means there is no firing pin block and comes with a flat, serrated, steel mainspring housing to hold up to the rigors of an everyday shooter. I've read one really good review about these guns and one middle of the road review. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but will later this week so I guess I'll see if it's reliable. The only issue I can see (only dry firing) is that the trigger pull is quite heavy. not to mention the bluing is purty but fingerprint magnet (I'm partial to parkerization myself). The slide and barrel are tight and the action is smooth. I don't feel like I got a bad deal since you can find the S&W all over the place for $550 and I saw the IJ's at $625 on almost every table carrying them. 45 with only the taxes and transfer fee having to be paid. So he traded me straight up the S&W for the. Anyway, I was at a gunshow in Ft Lauderdale yesterday and saw the IJ and asked the vendor if he'd trade me. I *thought* the IJ was made by the same factory as the Citadel and I had heard good things about them (I wish I had read a bit on the IJ before getting it if I had i might have looked for a citadel to trade). I had previously traded a Beretta 92F for the S&W and was really missing a full sized gun. 45 as my carry weapon and was looking to trade it toward a cheap full sized 1911 (I also really just didn't like the way it felt shooting it). I had a S&W M&P40c that I had fired very little and pretty much had replaced with my Springfield Micro. I just picked one of the Iver Johnson Eagles yesterday. Thanks to one and all for yourfeed back(in advance!) What are the prices like? What did YOU thnk of the fit and finish?Īny feedback would be greatly appreciated. Lets discuss this new manufacturers offering to the US market.ĪMERICAN HANDGUNNER had a small article about these 1911's and a member on another forum has recently acquired one.So.as we are a 1911 forum, what say you members?Īnd as far as that goes, has anyone seen one yet in their gunshops? I am NOT going to get into the "BUY AMERICAN"DEBATE IN THIS THREAD! ![]() I believe the market has changed drastically with the importation of Phillipine built 1911's.These handguns offer a great product for the price. As I am a total 1911 freak(which my gunshop owner has just figured out!:biglaugh I am always on the lookout for new, quality inexpensive 1911's that I can turn our customers on to.You,know, spread the addiction!:biglaugh:Īnd,as I have been called a gun snob because I like top end guns of all types,I try to test as many handguns in all price ranges because I realize that I am fortunate to be able to afford EB's or LB handguns, and not everybody is. ![]()
